Figuring out what it looks like to be the church we are called to be is a constant process of listening to, and learning from, the Spirit's call in our community. By community we mean folks inside and outside the church. We are discerning that we are called to live out our mission at this time by grounding our life as a church in the following values. We hope to keep listening and learning.

Nurturing God’s Spirit In and Amongst us.

We pray that we might be a community that supports spiritual well-being and inspires thanksgiving, the love of God, and grounding in God’s peace through:

• communal prayer, worship and the arts,
• the provision safe space to explore spirituality and a life of faith,
• the teaching spiritual practices and church traditions,
• the invitation to new ways of seeing God at work in our lives, and
• the tending to our vulnerabilities with great care.

Building belonging

We value full participation for all and seek to develop outlets that allow for the expression and affirmation of the gifts we each bring. We build community, friendship, and connection by engaging meaningful action together and by taking to time to enjoy God’s blessing and each other as we eat and enjoy music and art together.

Developing Diversity, Courage, and Support

We prioritize, affirm, and give thanks for diversity in all its forms and we respect our God-given individuality. We welcome new people and new experiences by listening deeply, engaging with compassion, navigating struggles, honoring the need for safety, encouraging each other, and making space to listen to and learn from varied perspectives across age and experience.

Loving Our Neighbor and Creation

We build community with our neighbors and come alongside to respond to community needs and ease suffering where we are able. We work with neighbors for the wellbeing of others without condition, sacrificing the desire for our own gain or power. We have a particular call to accompany and learn from those who are struggling with memory issues and their caregivers, children, those struggling with housing or food insecurity, and those that seek to tend the land in sustainable and honoring ways.
