OTHER GROUPS IN THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH

YFM (Young Families Ministry): YFM is for families with kids from birth through 5th grade.  We are a group of parents who are facing similar issues, and who need a break from the hectic life.  We meet for monthly social events, such as dinners out or game nights.  Sometimes we include our children; other times our kids have nursery care and program of their own, while we escape for fun and fellowship.

Minnows: We are an open group for couples and singles (age range is 50+) interested in deepening friendships.  Join us monthly for fun and fellowship.

Joy Riders: We’re open to seniors 55 and older and meet 4-5 times a year with the primary purpose of having fun.

Prayer Chain: We have about 35 pray-ers who make themselves available to receive and pass on requests to God for healing, encouragement, comfort, peace and for making difficult decisions.  The Chain is by phone and email, too.

Deacons: Meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7PM in the church Fellowship Hall.    Deacons are ordained officers who each minister to a parish (a group of church families) through nurture and care in times of need.  Deacons also set up communion, deliver service tapes to shut-ins, and help with coffee hour on Sunday morning.

Sojourners: A group for couples and singles in their 30’s and 40’s.   We meet occasionally for fun activities and get-togethers designed to enrich relationships and build lasting friendships.

Stephen Ministries: Stephen Ministers are trained and supervised caregivers who provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people.  Our first group of 11 Stephen Ministers are trained and ready to help.  If you could use the care of a Stephen Minister, or know someone who does, contact Pastor Dan or the church office.
